By raising money and supporting this event in aid of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, you will be among hundreds of other walkers who will all be participating to raise money for Cambridgeshire's only adult hospice, often walking to remember and honour someone special.
Since its launch in 2008, Star Shine Stroll has raised £ 255,063.89 for the Hospice, and with your help we can build upon this great success in 2016.
Your registration fee covers the cost of putting on the walk, and you goodies and refreshments. This means the money you raise in sponsorship goes to the direct benefit of patient care.
The Charity supports the work of the Hospice, which cares for patients who have been diagnosed with life limiting illness, such as cancer. The Charity is solely responsible for funding a range of services, for example of which is Day Therapy and Hospice at Home.
The Charity funds other services that support patients, their family and friends, such as bereavement counselling, complementary therapy, chaplaincy, and much more. Care is provided for patients individual needs on our ‘In-patient unit’ round the clock.
The ethos of the Charity is centred around the quality of life of our patients and those close to them. We work hard to ensure we have a Hospice which is a ‘home away from home’ where families can enjoy the time they have with each other in a safe and caring environment, or receive care and support at home.
